LO/MIT-I can be applied with minimal surface prep and without any primers. A good pressure wash to remove any debris or particulate that might affect adhesion is generally all that is required (LO/MIT is not a sealant, so any roof leaks or rust areas must be addressed before LO/MIT is applied - consult factory with any questions).
